after two long, cold, and grey winters of a global pandemic, people are itching to be outside. as our craving for new adventure and appetite for adrenaline grows, outdoor activities and extreme sports take over the imagination of the general population. the rough and rugged nature of rock climbing seems such a captivating and seductive contrast to our recent lifestyle of sweatpants and screens. and so, in parallel with the return of other trends from the 70s and 80s, rock climbing and utilitarian activewear make an impactful comeback in high fashion. this garment was derived from the aesthetics and silhouette of a climbing harness as a source garment, while modernizing and refreshing a retro colorway.
